Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links: Yami Marik Returns With God Card

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links’ Yami Marik event part two has kicked off today and it has brought back the option to obtain Yami Marik as well a way to get the Egyptian God Card called The Winged Dragon of Ra.

The event itself begins today and will run until December 19 so players have a limited time only if they want to unlock these two rare things.

The game lists out these instructions of how to play:

Earn Map Fragments by defeating Duelists in Duel World!

When you collect enough Map Fragments, you will be able to locate the Rare Hunters!

Defeat the Rare Hunters to find Yami Marik!

The Winged Dragon of Ra is a very powerful card but it doesn’t have all the effects you’ll find in the anime. That doesn’t make this card any less powerful. Here’s the description of the card:

Cannot be Special Summoned. Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). This card’s Normal Summon Normal Summon cannt be negated. When Normal Summon, others cards and effects cannot be activated. When this card is Normal Summoned: You can pay LP so that you only have 100 left; this card gains ATK and DEF equal to the amount of LP paid. You can pay 1000 LP, then target 1 monster on the field; destroy that target.

Ra isn’t the only powerful card Yami Marik has as you’ll also have the chance of getting a Lava Golem as an Ultra Rare drop from him. The Lava Golem is part of one of the meta decks so that’ll be a good card to pick up if you’re interested.

One thing that will be sure to interest potential Ra owners is the addition of the card called Ra’s Disciple. This card will be vital to pretty much any Ra deck:

When this card is Summoned: You can Special Summon up to 2 “Ra’s Disciple” from your hand and/or Deck. Cannot be Tributed, except for the Tribute Summon of “Slifer the Sky Dragon”, “Obelisk the Tormentor”, or “The Winged Dragon of Ra”. You cannot Special Summon monsters, except by the effect of “Ra’s Disciple”.

The Winged Dragon of Ra can only be obtained by defeating Yami Marik Lvl. 50 who will only start appearing December 15. This will give players four days to defeat him but you’ll have the chance to get the powerful God Card if you do so. Until then, you’ll just have to grind for Map Fragments and other Yami Marik drops.

Yami Marik as a character sounds interesting as he has an ability called “Shadow Game” which deals damage to both players according to the number of cards in their graveyards. Even if you don’t plan on getting Ra, it’s important to get Yami Marik at least.
