Yu-Gi-Oh!: 10 Modern Cards That Pegasus Would Totally Have In His Deck
If a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan had a look into Pegasus' modern cards, what would he totally have in his deck?
Maximillion Pegasus, the original villain of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime who then became friends with the group, was known for his Toon cards, along with another little side archetype of his. Since the original anime's release, though, plenty of new Toons have been released to the card game.
If Pegasus were to have a completely modern deck, there are plenty of cards that would slot in perfectly and help to elevate his deck quite a bit, starting with a card that he was seen using years later in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
10. Toon Kingdom
Toon Kingdom is an elevated version of Toon World that actually provides a few effects, rather than just being a card that allows Toons to be on the field. It gives them target immunity, and cards can be banished in order for Toons to be saved from destruction. Just like the original, though, if this card is destroyed, the user basically loses the duel right then and there, which isn't great.
9. Toon Dark Magician
Dark Magician eventually got a Toon counterpart, just like Dark Magician Girl. Besides the usual direct attack effect that at Toons have, by discarding a card, Toon Dark Magician can do one of two things. It can special summon a Toon that isn't Toon Dark Magician from the deck or add a Toon spell or trap card from the deck to the hand. Basically, it can get any Toon card needed onto the field quickly.
8. Red-Eyes Toon Dragon
Red-Eyes Toon Dragon is not as useful as Toon Dark Magician, but it does have the ability to special summon a Toon monster from the hand that isn't named Red-Eyes Toon Dragon, which is incredibly useful at times.
Yu-Gi-Oh!: Joey's 10 Coolest Monsters
While this special summon might not be from the deck like Toon Dark Magician, it is still very helpful, and it doesn't require a card to be discarded, which can be good or bad depending on the situation.
7. Millennium-Eyes Restrict
Millennium-Eyes Restrict is a new addition to the Relinquished archetype that can be fusion summoned with that monster and any other effect monster. Once per turn, when the opponent activates a monster effect, Millennium-Eyes Restrict can equip an effect monster from their graveyard to itself. Monsters with that name cannot activate their effects, and any currently activated are negated.
6. Toon Cyber Dragon
Toon Cyber Dragon can be special summoned if the player controls no monster while the opponent controls at least one. Other than that, it just has the normal one-turn restriction and ability to attack directly if the opponent controls no Toon monsters, making it a pretty standard Toon card with no super stand out effects overall.
5. Mimicat
Mimicat is a spell card in the Toon archetype. If the player controls a Toon monster and Toon World, they are allowed to either summon a monster to their side of the field from the opponent's graveyard, or set a spell or trap card from the graveyard.
Yu-Gi-Oh!: 10 Modern Cards That Mai Would Totally Have In Her Deck
Basically, the card lets the player steal a card from the opponent, and can only be used once per turn. This can be very useful in the right situation.
4. Terraforming
Terraforming is a very simple card that allows the player to add a field spell from their deck to the hand. Besides being very useful in the fact that this card basically just lowers the card count of the deck below 40, it also can allow the user to quickly get Toon Kingdom into their hand in order to begin setting up their side of the field very quickly, which is a requirement for a Toon deck especially.
3. Toon Harpie Lady
Toon Harpie Lady, based off the monster used by Mai Valentine in the anime, can be special summoned from the hand if Toon World is on the field. If another Toon monster is on the player's side of the field when this card is summoned, it can destroy a spell or trap card on the opponent's side of the field. This could be a reference to Harpie's Feather Duster, a Harpie card that destroys the opponent's backrow in one fatal sweep.
2. Toon Buster Blader
Toon Buster Blader is literally just Buster Blader turned into a Toon Monster. It retains its 500 attack point gain per dragon on the opponent's side of the field and in the graveyard. Additionally, it cannot attack the turn that it is summoned and can attack directly if the opponent controls no Toon monsters. Another very standard Toon monster, just like Toon Cyber Dragon. The last card here simply cannot relate, however.
1. Relinquished Anima
Relinquished Anima is a Link Relinquished monster that can be summoned with one level one monster that isn't a token. The card can target the monster that its link arrow points to, which is directly in front of it, and equip it to itself. The card gains attack equal to the equip monster. This ability can be used once per turn. This is certainly a Relinquished Link monster. Whether or not that is a good thing is certainly up to debate. At the very least, however, Pegasus would use this card.
