One of the most prominent duelists in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime is Mai Valentine. A skilled duelist, Mai centers her entire strategy on the Harpie Lady Monster. Mai's strategy usually revolves around strengthening and multiplying one of her Harpie Ladies, swarming the field with them. Today, we'll be taking a look back at every single Harpie Lady card that Mai canonically used throughout the series. None of the Waking the Dragons filler arc cards here. Those don't count.

8. Harpie Lady

Yugioh Harpie Lady

The Harpie Lady is Mai's base card, her standard. No, THE standard. She really doesn't have all that many other Monster cards in her deck. While Harpie Lady might seem weak at first glance, having only 1300 Attack Points with no effect, it has an array of support cards at its disposal that strengthen it in various different ways. Mai uses all of these support cards to great effect, such as the next card on our list.

7. Cyber Shield

Yugioh Harpie Lady's Cyber Shield

Cyber Shield is one of Harpie Lady's various support cards. Besides giving Harpie Lady a dazzling new outfit, Cyber Shielf gives the monster a very needed 500 extra Attack Points.

While this also might not seem too important in the grand scheme of things, Cyber Shield is just another part of the combo that flows very well with all of the other cards on this list. But if you didn't think that 500 Attack Points was all that impressive, just wait until you see the next card on the list.

6. Rose Whip

Yugioh Rose Whip

Rose Whip is another one of Harpie Lady's support cards, yet it is one that Mai sheds by the time that season two rolls around because it is not good. Rose Whip grants Harpie Lady an additional 300 Attack Points. There's no point to Rose Whip when Cyber Shield Exists. That's all there is to it. That must be why Mai decided that this card does not at all belong in her deck. Good choice Mai.

5. Elegant Egotist

Yu-Gi-Oh! Elegant Egotist

Elegant Egotist is one of the most important cards in Mai's Harpie Lady combo, as it allows her to duplicate her most trusted monster. In the real-life card game, Elegant Egotist is used to summon a Harpie Lady or Harpie Lady Sisters card. But not in the anime!

In the anime, Elegant Egotist allows Mai to duplicate her original Harpie Lady twice, with any and all support cards still attached. Turning one monster into three is incredibly useful, especially with all of its buffs included. This card is easily one of the most important in Mai's deck.

4. Harpie Lady Sisters

Yugoh Harpie Lady Sisters

Harpie Lady Sisters is kind of in Mai's deck... but also kind of not?

As previously noted, in the anime Elegant Egotist simply duplicates Mai's original Harpie Lady card. All of the Harpie Lady Sisters operate as separate Monsters in the anime, rather than as one single card. So is Harpie Lady Sisters actually a card that Mai has in her deck? Somewhat. Either way, all of the sisters make an appearance in most of Mai's battles, even if they don't operate as they do in the card game.

3. Harpie's Pet Dragon

Yugioh Harpie's Pet Dragon

Harpie's Pet Dragon is Mai's like... one other Monster card that she has in her deck. Harpie's Pet Dragon requires two sacrifices, but gains additional Attack Points for every single Harpie Lady card on the field. Combined with a card like Elegant Egotist, Harpie's Pet Dragon can very quickly become a huge powerhouse on the field. Harpie's Pet Dragon takes a bit of work to get out onto the field, but once it's there, it's going to blast away the competition.

2. Harpie's Feather Duster

Yugioh Harpie's Feather Duster

Harpie's Feather Duster is another one of Mai's incredibly powerful cards. Very simply, once it's activated, it wipes out all of the Spell and Trap cards on the opponent's side of the field. That's it. This is a very powerful card in the real-life game, just coming off of the ban list for the first time in 2020. As such, it goes without saying that Harpie's Feather Duster was an incredibly powerful card back when the original anime aired, and was used to Mai many times to great effects.

1. Cyber Harpie Lady

Yugioh Cyber Harpie Lady

Cyber Harpie Lady is the final Harpie Card that Mai uses in her deck. So, you know, the last card in her deck at all, basically.

Cyber Harpie Lady is a pretty simple card, it's essentially just Harpie Lady with Cyber Shield already equipped. It comes with 1800 attack points rather than the 1300 that Harpie Lady usually starts with. So, with that in mind, why would Mai ever even use a regular Harpie Lady? Cyber Harpie Lady is everything that Harpie Lady is, and more. Mai really doesn't even bring this card out all too much, which is confusing, to say the least. Either way, this card does have a place in Mai's deck, and is just one of the many Harpie cards that she uses in her very powerful combo.
