RELATED: Yu-Gi-Oh!: The 10 Best Dragon Monsters In The Game, Ranked

The Beast Type in Yu-Gi-Oh! has plenty of powerful support cards that make it one of the best Types in the game. While its power level isn't quite the same level as the likes of Dragon and Spellcasters, Beast-based decks can still pack a punch. There are plenty of strong beast Monsters, with some of the decks that use them among the best in the game.

10. Ojama

Yugioh ojama pink and solidarity

The Ojamas spent a long time as a bit of a joke Archetype. However, as time went on, Ojama got more and more support that made them into a competent deck. The Ojama support is definitely bloated, and often times overcomplicated but it's enough to make it playable.

The Ojamas work well as an engine, and as their own deck. In a solo Ojama deck, they tend to act more like a stun engine, preventing the opponent from being able to use their zones while altering the statline of Monsters to oftentimes give them lower Attack.

9. Crystal Beast

Yugioh crystal beast topaz tiger and Amethyst Cat

Crystal Beast made their debut late during the GX anime era, and made for one of the more interesting Archetypes. After they are destroyed, rather than going to the Graveyard, they go to the Spell and Trap zone instead, the first Archetype based around this.

Crystal Beast cards come with a plethora of powerful support cards, ranging from ways to flood the field to searching out any card they need at any given time. Cards like Rainbow Neos and Rainbow Dragon retrains have given them powerful Boss Monsters to boot.

8. Raccoons

Yugioh baby raccoon ponpoko and ronnin raccoon

Raccoons are a series of Level Two Beast Monsters, based around flooding the field with their fellow Raccoons and other Level Two Beast Monsters straight from the deck. Afterward, they go into Rank Two Xyz Monsters, with Number 64: Ronin Raccoon Sandayu being the main target for Raccoon decks.

Number 64: Ronin Raccoon Sandayu can create tokens that can then be used for both Synchro and Link Summoning, allowing Raccoons to be able to go into the Extra Deck more easily rather than going all in on their main Boss Monster.

7. Fabled

Yugioh fabled Cerburrel and Abanc

The Fabled Archetype is a mixture of Beast and Fiend Monsters, with the Beast Type Monsters of the Archetype being the core of the deck. Fabled decks are based around discarding themselves in order to get powerful effects, with certain Monsters gaining effects if you don't have many cards in your hand.

Over time, Fabled has received more support to make it a competent Rogue deck, capable of winning duels thanks to some of their powerful and consistent support cards. There are plenty of discard outlets, and as more get added Fabled only gets better.

6. Melffy

Yugioh melffy catty and mommy

On top of being one of the cutest Archetypes out there, Melffy is also a deceptively strong deck utilizing nothing but Beast Type Monsters. They are able to consistently get their effects, allowing them to pop cards on the opponent's turn or even Synchro Summon.

They have access to great Xyz Monsters as well, capable of searching out any Melffy Monster you need as well as negating the effects of the opponent's Monsters while they are on the field. Thanks to generic support, Melffy decks are surprisingly consistent, making for a solid Rouge deck.

5. Fur Hire

Yugioh fur hire donpa and folgo

Fur Hire, aside from making a joke out of PSCT, is a solid deck capable of flooding the field, all while triggering powerful effects when fellow Fur Hire Monsters are special summoned on their field. Fur Hire decks utilize just about every Type of Monster, with the Beast Monster being the highlight of the Archetype.

Folgo, Justice Fur Hire is one of the craziest cards out there, capable of allowing you to draw three cards by destroying an opponent's Monster, an effect most Archetypes dream of. They can flood the field easily, and if the opponent can't negate the Normal Summon, Fur Hire gets out of hand quite quickly with fantastic negates and Monsters.

4. X-Saber

Yugioh XX-Saber Emmersblade and X-Saber Airbellum

X-Saber (and by extension, XX-Saber) is an Archetype consisting of Beast, Beast-Warrior, Warrior, and Insect Monsters. The Beast Monsters of the Archetype are what enables the deck so much. X-Saber Airbellum is what enabled the deck so hard, as it was able to be brought out through cards like Rescue Cat.

X-Saber was once one of the best decks in the entire game. They could easily flood the field and then go into powerful Extra Deck Monsters to keep the opponent out of the game to ensure that you would win the duel.

3. Bujin

Yugioh bujin quilin and sinyou

The Bujin Archetype consists of Beast, Beast-Warrior, and Winged Beast Monsters. The part of the Archetype that's Beast would be the Bujingi. The Bujingi are all cards that are capable of protecting the other Bujin Monsters on the field or effect the board state by destroying cards.

Often, Bujin cards have effects that are applied either by discarding them or banishing them from the Graveyard. Bujin is a fan-favorite Archetype, with a plethora of different cards available to them in order to give them extra consistency for a solid Rogue deck.

2. Gladiator Beast

Yugioh gladiator beast darius and Vespasius

Gladiator Beasts were the deck that shifted Dark Armed Dragon out of the meta during its reign of terror, and it was cemented as a fan-favorite Archetype. Gladiator Beasts are built around tagging out into different Monsters after they battle, often getting effects from doing so.

In the modern game, Gladiator Beasts have become a surprisingly solid Control deck after spending a long time as aggro. Thanks to modern support, they have access to powerful, easily accessible Extra Deck Monsters to control the board and deal out devastating amounts of damage.

1. Tri-Brigade

Yugioh tri brigade kitt and ferrijit

Tri-Brigade is an Archetype of Beast, Winged Beast, and Beast-Warrior Monsters, and quickly cemented themselves as the best engine for all of those Archetypes. Thanks to their ability to support all of those Types, not just one at a time, Tri-Brigade is one of the strongest decks in the current Yu-Gi-Oh! metagame.

Tri-Brigade can easily flood the field and cheat out powerful Link Monsters, allowing them to set up negates for the opponent's turn. Their Monster effects are generic and easily abusable, making Tri-Brigade the best Beast deck out there.
